AWESOME.  Love the blue!

I will be honest, my Monstrum took some getting use to, but it is my go to watch right now and I love it.  This one is also an instant hit.  I like the hands on the new design.

Very Sweet Martin!!!ThumbsUp02.gif

Really like the changes that you implemented on the Sea Viper...to me it really shouts more clearly "ORSA".

My only comment (and it is a minor one), I'm thinking that slightly scaling down the size of the lume square on the seconds hand would be better proportioned to the dial design and proportions.

WOW...I'm loving the Sea Viper caseback design...(Absolutely sweet!!)...keeps well with a tradition of fantastic ORSA casebacks!!  Fantastic Polished Sea Viper!!!

It will be a hard choice between the blue and the orange.

I agree on the smaller second hand.  I also think switching the minute/hour scales would be more useful.  I view the viper first as a dive watch and second as a GMT.  Having the minute markers closer to the dial seems more useable to me.

Awesome caseback Berg!!!  cool10.gif

One thing that sort of bothers me about the orange dial, and I love orange dials, is that I think the red line on the bezel and the red letters on the dial sort of clash with the orange.  I know it is probably too late to change it now, but that is just me.  Did you ever think about substituting the red with white?  The blue dial (with red accents) looks perfect to me!!!

Cheers,
gigfy

Berg, I really like this design, but if critical feedback is what you're looking for, here you go: First, is that the lume square on the second hand seems to be a bit too large—almost distracting, and second, the offset black ring around the date window is a bit weak for this dial design.

The sample I created below addresses the above comments: I reduced the second hand lume square by a touch over 15%, and filled in the date window with black to keep in concert, and proportion with the rest of the bold elements. Kudos Berg... awesome watch you got here!

Hello Berg, nice!

Is the crown at 3 or 4? (i would like to see it at 4).

Any chance of the minute hash marks on the bezel going all the way to 20? That would line up nicely with the crown and date window. It also makes the bezel more useful for recreational divers.

cheers.

AWESOME !  I agree that the second hand needs to be smaller.  Date window is fine as is.   Oversize crown at 4 o'clock?  Would like outer-ring bezel stainless.   Case back is off-the-charts !!!   Thanks, Jim.

Now THAT is more like it. From the redesigned markers, to the chubby hands filled with lume ... not to mention that caseback. WOW! This has much more of that ORSA design pizzaz we have come to expect from the brand than the first iteration.

The initial design was just a little 'flat', but now it looks so 3 dimensional. This is a HUGE winner in both colors shown. I can't wait to see the others you have in store.

The only suggested change I like is the heavier black date window.

It's in the drawing, right?  45mm bezel width, if I'm reading it correctly.

Berg,

The new caseback is super cool.  I absolutely love it.  But it just struck me that this is not a picture of a viper (snake).   It looks like an enlarged and slightly different Sea Angler with a longer tail.

The Angler has a picture of a deep sea anglerfish.

The monstrum has a picture of a sea monster (deep sea squid)

Have you completely made up your mind on the Sea Viper caseback design?

Cheers,

gigfy

Hi Berg,

I like this watch and will get a blue one as soon as available,

I like it because, it is nice (ok awsome !) and strong (probably as strong as Monstrum or SA),

That said, if, with a 500m waterproof watch you are targeting scuba divers, I think you are missing some points :

- second an minute hands need to be sharper at the end, and they need to outcrop  indexs,

- the bezel should have the minute ring closer to the hands and with index all aroud...

That said, I am not a scuba diver, just snorkeling and hunting... so it's fine for me !!

Guys the Sea Viper and Sea Angler both have that nasty mouth of teeth and the natures fishing lure. The Angler is stort and fat where the Viper is long and skinny. Just Google both fish and some cool images can be found. ;)

You are 100% correct.  I didn't realize that the viper fish also had the long dorsal spine tipped with a photophore like the angler fish.

Very cool!!!  Please keep it like it is!!

Martin,

I have begun with the monster, these became two, the next one was the pro diver (she is still on the trip over the sea to me), all watches automatic,
I dear the blue sea viper, I want to dive the damned 500 metres deep with it,

This watch will be the hit, very nice work Martinthankyou.gif

I am in for BLUE all the way!! Where and when do I send my deposit??

Hi Orsa-fanatics,

A   thick mesh strap

is what I suggested two weeks ago, maybe it's possible,

that Bergs designer ZAZ tries a mesh-drawing to get an impression???

I really like the design aspects of the Monstrom but this one is not speaking to me.  IMHO the square on the sweep hand is too big and the offset black in the indices is distracting.

Hi,

this is my first post. I was looking up Benarus and Orsa watches on line and got a link to this forum. I love it, am a watch enthusiast and found a family:) Lookking to  buy a new watch, but a rarer model, something done in Limited #s, hence these two brands.

Anyway, any news on this new Orsa? When will it ber available? what is the final design?

Thanks a bunch!
